The main issues so far today are planned works.
Restrictions continue at A52 Wheatcroft, while the A6097 at East Bridgford closes again tonight. There are also overnight closures affecting Mansfield Road, Nuthall Road and Tamworth Road at Sawley, while an emergency daytime closure at Ironville will divert buses from 09:30.
Roads and motorways
No major fresh unplanned incident causing widespread disruption has been identified on Nottinghamshire’s principal strategic routes in the early check.
Drivers should nevertheless expect the normal increase in traffic on the A52, A453, A610 and approaches to Nottingham as the morning peak develops.
A52 Wheatcroft
The major works at Wheatcroft junction remain one of the principal potential pressure points south of Nottingham.
Flawforth Lane remains completely closed where it meets the A52 until 18:00 on Friday 25 September, as utility diversion work continues ahead of reconstruction of Wheatcroft junction. Lane restrictions and the temporary 40mph limit also remain on the A52.
Further restrictions are scheduled this weekend, when part of the A52 Gamston Link Road at Wheatcroft is due to close overnight from Friday 25 to Monday 28 September.
East Bridgford – A6097 closes again tonight
The A6097 between Gunthorpe Bridge and the A46 is due to close for a second consecutive night tonight.
The five-night programme runs through to Saturday morning, with vegetation and tree clearance taking place between Kirk Hill junction and the A46 roundabout as part of the A614/A6097 improvement works.
Traffic is being diverted via the A46, A617, A614 and A6097.
Long-term construction also continues at Kirk Hill junction and Lowdham Roundabout.
Rail – engineering alterations
There is no major Nottinghamshire rail incident identified in the early check, but planned engineering work affects East Midlands Railway services today.
The 05:21 Derby to Nottingham left Derby two minutes earlier than normal at 05:19 this morning, running early as far as Attenborough. This alteration continues through Friday.
The 04:58 Sheffield to London St Pancras also starts earlier, at 04:37, before returning to its normal schedule at Derby.
Tonight, the 22:32 London St Pancras to Sheffield will terminate at Derby, with a replacement bus running between Derby, Chesterfield and Sheffield. The 23:30 Sheffield to Derby will also arrive later than usual, at 00:30.
National Rail – Nottingham and Derby engineering alterations
London services – additional alterations begin today
A separate programme of overnight engineering work between London St Pancras and Kettering begins today and continues through Friday.
Tonight’s 23:04 London St Pancras to Derby will run to an amended timetable, leaving Luton Airport Parkway later than normal before running up to eight minutes early on parts of its journey to Derby.

Buses – emergency works at Ironville today
There is a new daytime disruption affecting trentbarton passengers.
Bullock Lane at Ironville closes between 09:30 and 14:30 today for emergency Openreach works.
The closure affects rainbow one and the 90, with both services operating on diversion and a number of stops not served.
Nuthall Road – overnight closure
The major resurfacing programme on Nuthall Road continues tonight.
The Nottingham-bound carriageway closes between 19:00 and 06:00 each night until Saturday 26 September.
Nottingham City Transport Yellow 71/71B and Turquoise 79 are affected.
The 71 towards Nottingham follows the Yellow 70 route along Bagnall Road, while the 79 towards the city diverts via Broxtowe Lane, Aspley Lane and Melbourne Road. Buses do not stop on the 79’s diversion.
trentbarton’s rainbow one is also affected by the Nuthall Road closure, with Cinderhill Island, Nottingham College and Basford Hall College among stops missed towards Nottingham.
Mansfield Road – overnight closure continues
The inbound A60 Mansfield Road between Goose Fair Island and Forest Road is scheduled to be open for this morning’s peak after the overnight works.
It closes again between 20:00 tonight and 06:00 Wednesday.
All NCT Brown, Lime, Yellow and Purple Line services towards Nottingham divert from Goose Fair Island via Gregory Boulevard, Alfreton Road, Canning Circus and Talbot Street.
Buses do not stop on the diversion until South Sherwood Street. The weeknight programme continues through Thursday night.
Ruddington – Easthorpe Street
Drainage works continue on Easthorpe Street in Ruddington.
Green 10 and 10C divert between 08:00 and 16:00 each day until Friday 2 October, using the A60 Loughborough Road, Kirk Lane and High Street.
The Cumberland Close stops are not served.
Sawley – Tamworth Road tonight
The overnight closure of Tamworth Road at Sawley continues tonight.
The road closes between 20:00 and 06:00 on weekday nights until 3 October, affecting trentbarton my15 and skylink Nottingham services.
Maid Marian Way – Broad Marsh
Traffic management remains around Maid Marian Way during demolition of the former Broad Marsh NCP car park and Nottingham College building.
NCT says it does not currently anticipate having to divert services, but lane restrictions and temporary traffic lights are causing delays.
The arrangements are expected to continue until the end of November.
Other continuing disruption
The long-term closure of Bathley Street continues to divert Green 11 and 11C towards Lady Bay, while daytime closures of Sneinton Hermitage are affecting Red 44 and 44A until Friday.
At Lowdham Roundabout, the major A614/A6097 construction programme has now begun. NCT is warning Pathfinder 26 passengers of possible delays, with the work expected to continue for around 13 months.
Longer-term county works also continue at Holme and Langford near Newark, where Langford Lane and Holme Lane are subject to daytime closures, and on the A616 Worksop Road at Perlethorpe cum Budby, where a temporary 30mph limit is in force.
