Nottinghamshire Traffic & Travel – Live: Latest delays, road closures and commuter updates for Monday 3 August

There are no reports of any major incidents causing widespread delays across Nottinghamshire this morning, although several planned roadworks and bus diversions remain in place.

National Highways | 5 pm

National Highways has announced the following planned overnight road closures across the East Midlands tonight.

The closures are scheduled from 20:00 until 06:00:

  • A14 eastbound between junctions 2 and 8
  • M6 to M1 southbound link road
  • A1 northbound between Barrowby and Gonerby Moor
  • A5 in both directions between Nutts Lane roundabout and Dodwells roundabout

Drivers are advised to allow extra time and follow the signed diversion routes.


Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service | 4 pm: Carter Lane in Church Warsop closed while nine fire crews deal with a blaze in a field.

‘Lanes 1, 2 and 3 (of 4) are closed on the M1 northbound in Derbyshire between J29a and J30 due to a grass verge fire at the side of the carriageway.

‘Emergency services are on scene.

‘Current delays of 35 mins and 5 miles of congestion on the approach.’

We currently have no tram service between Ruddington Lane & Clifton South due to a power outage.


NCT | 11:32 am

Due to an incident in Clifton the following services are diverting:

Navy 48 and Grey 53 towards Clifton will remain on Farnborough Road, turning right onto Green Lane and left Southchurch

Grey 54 will turn left upon exiting Rivergreen, then right Farnborough, right Green Lane and left Southchurch.

Green 9 at The Fairham will carry straight onto Green Lane.


 

Roads

Traffic is generally flowing well on the county’s major routes, including the M1, A52, A46 and Nottingham Ring Road, with no significant incidents reported at the time of writing.

Roadworks affecting journeys

Drivers should still allow extra time in areas affected by ongoing roadworks, including:

  • Kirk Ley Road, East Leake
  • Cockington Road, Bilborough
  • Gedling Road, Arnold (overnight works)
  • London Road, Newark (overnight works)
  • Woodthorpe Drive slip road
  • Lowdham to Bulcote (A612) improvement works

Buses

A number of planned diversions are in place today because of roadworks, including:

  • skylink Nottingham – one-way system in Long Eaton from today.
  • Route 90 – Nottingham Road, Mansfield one-way closure affecting journeys towards Ripley.
  • skylink Nottingham – Bondgate, Castle Donington closed during the day, with diversions in place.

Passengers are advised to check with their operator before travelling if using affected routes.

Trams

No significant NET disruption has been reported this morning.

Rail

East Midlands Railway has not reported any major service disruption affecting Nottingham services this morning. Industrial action short of a strike may affect Intercity EMR routes.
