Nottinghamshire weather for Friday 23 January

Friday  is expected to start relatively calm but turn wetter and more unsettled as the day progresses across Nottinghamshire.

Early morning
The day will begin overcast but largely dry, with only a small chance of light rain during the early hours. Rain probabilities remain low, generally below 10 per cent until mid-morning. Temperatures will start at around 3°C to 4°C, rising to about 6°C by mid-morning. Winds will be easterly to east-south-easterly at around 10 to 12 mph, making it feel chilly.

Midday
By late morning and into midday, rain will become increasingly likely, with probabilities rising sharply to between 60 and 90 per cent. Steady rain is expected to develop, with cloud thickening across the region. Temperatures will be around 7°C, with winds strengthening from the east-south-east at 13 to 14 mph. Conditions will feel damp and raw.

Afternoon
The afternoon will be wet, with persistent rain continuing across much of the county. Rainfall may be moderate at times, particularly early in the afternoon, before gradually easing later on. Temperatures will reach around 8°C, with brisk east-south-easterly winds of around 13 to 14 mph maintaining an unsettled feel.

Evening
During the evening, rain will gradually become more patchy, though showers remain possible. Rain chances fall to around 40 per cent by late afternoon and evening. Temperatures will slowly dip from around 8°C to 7°C. Winds will ease slightly but remain moderate from the east-south-east at around 12 mph, bringing a damp but calmer end to the day.
