Nottinghamshire weather for Friday 30 January

Friday January 30 is expected to be a wet start across Nottinghamshire, with rain during the early morning gradually easing through the day.

Early morning
The day will begin with widespread rain, with a very high likelihood of precipitation during the early hours and morning. Rain probabilities are above 90 per cent until around mid-morning. Temperatures will start close to 0°C, rising to around 4°C to 5°C by mid-morning. Winds will be moderate from the east-south-east at around 12 mph, with gusts near 24 to 25 mph, making conditions feel cold and damp.

Midday
By late morning and into midday, rain will become lighter and more intermittent. Rain chances gradually reduce to around 50 per cent by midday. Temperatures will rise slowly to around 5°C to 6°C. Winds will remain from the east-south-east at around 11 to 12 mph, maintaining a chilly feel.

Afternoon
The afternoon will see further improvement, with rain becoming increasingly patchy and longer dry spells developing. Rain probabilities fall to around 20 to 30 per cent. Temperatures will reach around 7°C. Winds will ease slightly but remain easterly, at around 10 to 11 mph.

Evening
During the evening, cloud will persist and the chance of rain will increase again. Rain probabilities rise from around 40 per cent early in the evening to 70 per cent later at night. Temperatures will hold near 7°C. Winds will remain moderate from the east at around 11 to 12 mph, bringing a damp and unsettled end to the day.
