‘Our emergency fire control team quickly mobilised a team from Team Stapleford, Long Eaton Fire Station and a Station Manager. They also informed Police, East Midlands Ambulance Service and the Highways Agency.
‘Because of this information we took an unusual and coordinated action and chose to “reverse run” travelling the wrong way up the A52.
‘Four people were treated on the scene and a number taken to hospital. We wish them a speedy recovery as always.
‘There was no fire and our crews made the vehicles safe.
‘We normally wait 48 hours before sharing photos of incidents like this. However given the number of questions raised, we felt you needed this information sooner than normal.
‘No further details will be shared at this time.’
