Yesterday 7 October Rosecliffe Spencer Academy in Edwalton celebrated their official opening.
The school was officially opened by Nottinghamshire County Council Chair Councillor Mike Quigley MBE.
Representatives from Arc Partnership and Morgan Sindall who managed the build attended along with Rushcliffe MP Ruth Edwards and Cllr Jonathan Wheeler who represents West Bridgford South at the county council.
Children put on an assembly of music and song, and told the audience what they loved about being in the Rosecliffe Family.
Then a tour of the school was arranged for those in attendance at the event.
Ruth Edwards MP said:
‘I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the children and staff at Rosecliffe Spencer Academy for showing us around this morning, it’s wonderful to hear how happy they are at school and to see what they are doing. look forward to working with them all in the future’
Cllr Jonathan Wheeler said:
‘Rosecliffe is an amazing school, with great leadership, a hardworking and enthusiastic group of teachers and staff and pupils who amazed us all today with a great singing performance and tour of the school.
“I am proud this school is in our community and the pupils are a real credit to their parents and teachers.”
Councillor Mike Quigley MBE said:
‘I was thrilled to come and open Rosecliffe Spencer Academy, on behalf of the Nottinghamshire County Council as chairman.
“It’s great to see a lovely group of children enjoying the school, with residents moving into the newly-developed area, over time we will surely see the school at its full capacity.
“The Spencer Academies Trust has a great reputation across education.”
Pavan Chandhoke, Principal at Rosecliffe Spencer Academy said:
‘I am immensely proud of the children and staff. It’s a real privilege to be part of the Rosecliffe family and help guide it along on its journey.’
