A suspected burglar was tracked through a construction site by a police dog and arrested.
Police were called at 7.11 pm on Sunday 14 April to the site on Radford Road, New Basford, after a witness reported a person climbing a fence.
Officers placed a local containment on the site and a drone was deployed to monitor the area.
Also dispatched to the scene was Police Dog Reno and his handler.
After a search, Reno followed his nose and soon drew his handler’s attention to a cabin at the site.
Further investigation revealed a suspect inside who was immediately detained.
A 27-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in police custody.
PC Isabella Daley, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“This was a very large site with numerous locations where a suspect could be hidden.
“It’s in situations like this that police dogs like Reno really come into their own and he certainly did a great job yesterday in sniffing out this suspect.”
