Detectives are appealing for information after an 11-year-old boy’s scooter was stolen during a street robbery.
The victim was in Burton Road, Carlton, Nottingham, around 4.45pm on Thursday 16 July when he was approached by two people riding a moped.
The boy was pushed from the scooter and when a member of the public intervened, one of the offenders brandished a meat cleaver.
The pair then fled with the scooter in the direction of Netherfield.
Detectives have been carrying out inquiries into the incident, which have included a trawl of CCTV footage in the area.
They are now in a position to release images of two people who could have important information about what happened.
Detective Constable David Hanmore, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“We want to speak to the two individuals pictured so we can take their account.
“While we fully understand the images are not very clear, we believe the distinctive balaclava and top worn by one of them could assist with identification.
“Our young victim was left shaken by what happened to him, so we’d urge anyone with any information or relevant footage to get in touch without delay.”
