Operation Reacher tackles the issue of speeding on Radcliffe Road in West Bridgford following a change in the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph.
Police said:
‘This is not a new speed limit, it changed in early 2022, however, we have received numerous complaints of vehicles travelling well over the speed limit.
‘As requested, we conducted a speed check on the road and found the vast majority of drivers were adhering to the ‘new’ speed limits, however, we also found a large amount travelling well over the 30 mph speed limit.
‘Where possible we offered educational advice on the dangers of speeding but those found to be significantly over the limit were reported to court for the offence.
‘Several motorists stated that they genuinely believed it was a 40 mph and were unaware of the change.
This change was well-publicised back in 2022 but can we please ask, if you travel on this road to adhere to the speed limit and spread the message to friends and family.’
