Parts of the A46 have been closed in both directions following a series of collisions this morning.
A spokesperson said:
‘Closures are now in place on the A46 near Willoughby-on-the-Wolds, between junctions with the A606 and A6006.
‘That’s after multiple vehicles slid off this stretch of the A-road at various stages of the morning, due to the icy conditions.
‘Nobody is currently believed to have sustained any life-threatening injuries during the respective incidents.

‘Motorists are asked to take alternative routes and avoid the area, while vehicles are recovered and the road is re-gritted.
‘We would also advise drivers to keep a good distance from other vehicles, reduce their speed and set off on their journeys with plenty of time.’
