Police discovered a cannabis grow after being alerted to a break-in at a house.
Officers were called to Manston Mews, Radford, shortly before 5.45am on Tuesday (9 April) when up to six suspects were seen attempting to gain access to a property.
When police arrived at the scene they found a smashed window and cannabis strewn across the street.
A search revealed the Class B drug was being grown in the property, with approximately 50 plants still inside the house that have now been seized by officers.
No one was found to be inside the address but there was evidence a number of cannabis plants had been taken.
Detective Inspector Paul Shortt, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“Cannabis grows of this nature are often linked to organised crime groups from home and abroad and – as we have seen in this instance – can also become a target for other criminals.
“They also pose a significant fire risk to neighbouring properties, which is why we urge residents to make us aware of any suspicious activity or smells at properties in their neighbourhood.”
Investigation work is ongoing and anyone with additional information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 71 of 9 April 2024.
