More than 100 cannabis plants have been seized from a house in Radford with dangerously by-passed electrics.
Officers were called to the terraced property in Radford Road and found 113 plants across four floors, including a basement.
Police were alerted to the drugs farm by the electric board, who attended after noticing unusual electric usage at the property.
After the plants were discovered, Nottinghamshire Police’s cannabis dismantling team were called in to take down the set up and destroy the plants.
An investigation to trace those responsible for the grow is underway following its discovery on Wednesday afternoon (15 November).
PC Dan Bird, who is leading the investigation, said:
“This was a significant grow and that posed a very real threat to neighbouring properties. The electricity had been bypassed which, as we repeatedly warn people, is incredibly dangerous as it can result in a fire.
“In addition to the fire risk, the production and distribution of drugs have a negative impact on communities and can often be linked to other serious offences.
“That is why we don’t want to see these household cannabis farms anywhere near our communities and we will continue to respond to any reports we receive of drug activity to ensure they are shut down as soon as possible.
“It is important that anyone who has any information about drug production in their area gets in touch with us so that we can act straight away.”
