Ruddington: Arson arrest after concern for man’s safety

A man was arrested af a fire at a Ruddington property.

Police suspect that the fire was deliberately started.

Emergency services were called on Thursday 12 October) to the property in Dunblane Road at 9.35pm.

There were also concerns for a man’s safety.

Neighbouring residents were asked to leave their homes as a precaution whilst crews from Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service dealt with the incident.

Neighbourhood Policing Inspector for Rushcliffe, Tim Cuthbert said: “I’d like to thank the residents affected for their patience and understanding while we worked with fire service colleagues to safely resolve this incident.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life.”
