Rushcliffe police carry out cross-border warrant in burglary probe

Officers from Rushcliffe’s Neighbourhood Policing Team were joined by the Tactical Support Group and Leicestershire and Rutland’s Rural Crime Team on Tuesday 17 February 2026 to execute a warrant at an address just over the county border at Gunthorpe.

The search, along with previous warrants carried out in Bingham, forms part of ongoing burglary investigations linked to offences in Rushcliffe and Newark. Police confirmed enquiries remain ongoing.

On Friday 20 February, members of the team received training from Communities Inc as part of the “Stand By Her” initiative, which focuses on tackling misogyny and sexism. The training forms part of a wider Nottinghamshire Police programme aimed at equipping officers and staff to better understand hate crime, prejudice and associated risk factors.

Representatives from Nottinghamshire Police also joined Rushcliffe Borough Council and partner organisations at Rushcliffe Arena on Saturday 21 February to support Lunar New Year celebrations as part of ongoing community engagement work.

On Sunday 22 February, neighbourhood officers were deployed to police the Nottingham Forest v Liverpool fixture at the City Ground. During the match, public order officers assigned to duties outside the stadium carried out an area search of the Trent Embankment following reports of an attempted cycle theft.

While those operations were under way, Rushcliffe Response officers attended a single-vehicle collision in East Leake in which a motorcyclist sustained injuries. The circumstances of the collision remain under investigation.

On Monday 23 February, an officer visited Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station to discuss issues affecting the site and surrounding communities. Police said reports of car cruising in the area have reduced significantly since the introduction of a red route at the A453 junction, highlighting the impact of partnership working in addressing anti-social behaviour.

However, officers say theft and trespass remain ongoing concerns while the site is being decommissioned. Contractors, Uniper representatives and security staff remain on site. Police are reminding the public that the power station remains a hazardous industrial environment and that entering without authorisation poses serious risks due to site-specific dangers.
