Officers from the Rushcliffe South Neighbourhood team joined forces with the Environment Agency to continue tackling illegal fishing in Rushcliffe.
Over the last couple of months, officers have caught and reported a number of individuals for illegal fishing.
No notices were issued after spot checks were carried out on the Grantham Canal near Main Road, Cotgrave.
Police said:
‘Nottinghamshire Police will respond to incidents of theft of fishing rights, and will continue to be supportive of the efforts of both the clubs, bailiffs and EA with Operations and Policing of our rivers and waters.
‘Members of the public are encouraged to remain vigilant and continue to report incidents to the police by calling 101 or 999 where a crime is in progress or in an emergency.
‘You can also report incidents of illegal fishing or poaching online.’
