Rushcliffe School closes to three year groups from Thursday 19 March

Rushcliffe School announced the closure in a letter to parents this morning.

The letter states the main points below:

‘As the week has gone on, the new guidelines around self-isolation have increasingly affected staffing levels and our ability to function at full capacity. As a result, we have no choice but to undertake a partial school closure. You will understand that our first priority is to maintain learning in school for our examination years and then for our youngest and most vulnerable students.

Consequently, school will only be open to years 7, 11, 12 and 13 from Thursday 19th March; years 8, 9 and 10 should remain at home.

‘Work will be provided for years 8, 9 and 10 via Show My Homework.

‘As a special consideration we are able to accommodate any year 8, 9 and 10 children of parents that work in the emergency services and front-line medical profession (regardless of year group) to allow those parents to do the essential work that is required to protect lives and keep the community safe.’
