Severn Trent statement on sewage leaks in Central Avenue West Bridgford

The Avenue has had two leaks of sewage in the past week.

Foul-smelling water leaked on to the Avenue yesterday, Sunday 13 August and last Thursday.

A Severn Trent spokesperson said:

“We’re really sorry for any inconvenience that the flooding has caused on Central Avenue.

“Our teams have been carrying out investigations, and have found that it’s being caused by a misconnection into our network from a third party, causing the system to overwhelm.

“We are now in contact with those responsible, and will be working together to help get everything fixed and back to normal.

“While work is ongoing, we will be carrying out daily visits to clear the system to help increase capacity and minimise the risk of flooding again.”
