Two taser guns were seized by City West officers during a warrant at a house.
The neighbourhood policing team made the discoveries while visiting a property in Bodmin Drive, Aspley.
A warrant was executed at the house after police received information suggesting it could be linked to criminality.
After being allowed inside by the homeowner – around 9am on Saturday (31 January) – officers searched the property.
These checks would ultimately result in the City West team finding multiple weapons within the address.
Two electronic devices with prongs at the end – believed to be adapted taser-style weapons – were discovered in two of the bedrooms.
Two men, aged 22 and 25, were subsequently arrested on suspicion of possessing a Section 5 firearm without a certificate.
Sergeant Darran Owen, of Nottinghamshire Police’s City West neighbourhood policing team, said:
“Warrants are among the most effective tools our neighbourhood team has at our disposal for detecting offences.
“While this one was prompted by unrelated suspicions of criminality, this action ultimately resulted in us taking two dangerous weapons out of harm’s way.
“Put simply, there is absolutely no justification whatsoever for any member of the public to own a taser, which is illegal to carry or keep in a private setting.
“As I say, we’re pleased to have been able to seize both these items and arrest two suspects on the back of those discoveries too.”
