Several fire engines and crews are tackling the blaze.
Roads have reopened and the fire has been dealt with – 6 pm
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said at 3:49 pm on Wednesday 3 January:
‘We have currently got several fire engines in attendance at a pub fire on Mansfield Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield.
‘This is causing significant traffic disruption in the area and the following road closures have been put in place:
– Mason Street
– Mansfield Road, Junction with Hill Crescent and Skegby Road.’
‘Please bear with us whilst we work to get this fire dealt with as soon as possible.’
Residents are advised to avoid the area.
AA Roadwatch:
‘Road closed and heavy traffic due to building fire on B6023 Mansfield Road both ways from Eastfield Side to Unwin Road. The road was closed at around 15:45 due to a fire at the former Blue Bell pub, Initially reported near Whitehead Road. Note change of location.’
