A suspect has been arrested after a teenage girl was robbed in Bestwood.
The victim was sitting on a bench in Pavior Road when she was confronted by another teenage girl.
She was then punched in the face, pulled to the ground by her hair and kicked in the head, stomach and back.
The victim was left with multiple cuts and clumps of her hair missing following the attack, which happened around 6pm on 17 August.
Her phone was also taken during the incident, which although found discarded further up the road soon afterwards, had been smashed on the ground.
Having conducted extensive inquiries in the days since the incident, officers managed to identify and detain a suspect on Saturday (22 August).
A 13-year-old girl was at that point arrested on suspicion of robbery.
PC Connor Richardson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:
“The level of violence involved in this incident was completely unacceptable, so we’re pleased to have now made an arrest.
“Robbery is an incredibly serious offence that can impact people in a multitude of different ways, whether that’s from a physical, financial, or emotional standpoint.
“We’re therefore keen to get to the bottom of exactly what happened here, so would ask anyone who witnessed the incident, or filmed it on their phone, CCTV, dash-cam or doorbell camera, to please get in touch.”
