Please be aware that the West Bridgford area has been subject to high-end keyless Mercedes vehicles being stolen overnight from driveways, with three vehicles stolen in the last two months.
Police said:
‘It is believed that offenders use a signal boosting device to trick the vehicle into thinking the key is within the car when it is not.
‘Please take extra measures to protect your keys, such as purchasing a faraday sleeve, ensuring that keys are at least five metres from any doors or windows, and consider a stop-lock on the steering wheel.
‘This kind of offending is not exclusive to Mercedes. West Bridgford Police continue to make enquiries into this offending pattern.’
