Tollerton: Appeal for witnesses after three die in collision

Police investigating a fatal road traffic collision are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Emergency services were called to Cotgrave Road, Tollerton, shortly after 11pm on Thursday 22 May, following reports of a car crash.

Three men in a grey Volkswagen Golf, aged 19, 21 and 23, were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 26-year-old man, who was in another vehicle – a blue Volkswagen Golf – was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving and remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Another man, aged 20, who was also in the second car, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. He has since been released under police bail as inquiries continues.

Officers investigating the incident are now appealing for anyone who saw what happened, and who may have dash-cam or CCTV footage to get in touch with them immediately.

Sergeant Charlotte Henson, of Nottinghamshire Police’s serious collision investigation unit, said:

“Our sympathies remain with the families and friends that have lost their loved ones and we ask that the public respect their privacy at this time. The families continue to be supported by our specially trained officers.

“We’re committed to getting to the bottom of what happened here, so would plead with anyone who has any information about this, however small it may seem, to contact the police.

“This includes any dash-cam or CCTV footage taken in the Tollerton area, as this could really assist us with our inquiries.

“Anyone with information can call 101 quoting incident number 25000297832 and Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
