The burglary happened at a house in Potters Lane in East Leake on 12 August in 2019. Crampton and Ambler left at the end of the party at around 4 am, only to return less than two hours later to break in. Crampton climbed through a first-floor window to steal items from the house before leaving by a side door.

Crampton and Ambler then both entered the property together, stealing the games console and the keys to two cars parked on the driveway.

Both men were sentenced at Nottingham Crown Court yesterday (14 September).

Crampton, of  East Leake pleaded guilty to burglary, two counts of theft of a motor vehicle and one count of driving while disqualified.

Ambler, of East Leake pleaded guilty to burglary and two counts of theft of a motor vehicle.

Detective Constable Richard Evans from Nottinghamshire Police’s dedicated Robbery Team, said: “Crampton and Ambler’s actions in this incident betrayed the trust and hospitality shown to them by the victim.”

“Nottinghamshire Police recognises the impact that burglary has upon victims and we will continue to tirelessly investigate incidents of this nature.”

“I’m pleased that we were able to put these men before the courts and have them held responsible for their actions.”

Crampton was sentenced to 21 months in prison, suspended for two years, while Ambler was sentenced to 12 months, suspended for two years.
