Unicorn’s Head: Top team take over at stunning Nottinghamshire pub

Langar, near Bingham has always been able to boast about the lovely Langar Hall but now it can also boast about having a great village pub.

Andy Hunt used to work at the aforementioned Langar Hall back in the late nineties and frequented the Unicorn’s Head after shift when he was a waiter there.

When he saw that it was up for sale he jumped at the chance to have a look around.

He fell in love with the place and quickly contacted old friend and Head Chef Leroy Allen.

Simon Barnes has joined The Belvoir Pub Co as Operations Manager and is looking to also take the Unicorn’s Head back to where it belongs.

“We are looking to give the villagers and surrounding area a pub they can be proud of, we have put a bit of love back in to the building and we want our service to be up there with the best in the area!”

“We bounce ideas of each other all the time and we look forward to working together for a long time”

The Unicorn’s Head can be best described as a destination food Pub but the trio don’t see the place as just the food.

Andy added: “We want the pub part of the Unicorn’s Head to stay exactly that…. a pub.

“A place where people can meet for a drink, a social hub where families, locals and dog walkers all feel comfortable.

“Three open fires will keep you warm in winter and three outside areas will hopefully have you drinking or eating in the sunshine come spring 2024.

What can people expect from the Unicorns Head?

Leroy said:  “A warm welcome, great food and a good drinks selection, we are delighted to offer weekend breakfasts, Sunday roasts, bar food and  a restaurant serving a full menu accompanied by a set menu early in the evening.

Simon echoes Leroy’s sentiments and adds: “We really can’t wait to show people around the place and see the little touches we have done to bring the place back to life”

The Unicorns Head is open 7 days a week and offers breakfast on a Saturday & Sunday from 9.30am.
