Update: Woman left heartbroken after her car is stolen with her dog inside

The dog, a chocolate Labrador, was in the back of a white Ford Ecosport Titanium at 10.40am this morning.

Police are working with the heart-broken owner of a pet Labrador urging people to help reunite her with her beloved dog after thieves stole her car this morning with the animal still inside it.

Police announced at 7:19 pm

‘We’re happy to update you that owner and dog have now been reunited.’

The dog, a chocolate Labrador, was in the back of a white Ford Ecosport Titanium at 10.40am this morning.

But when the owner went into her house in Hawton Road, Newark to pick something up, thieves struck and stole the car driving off in the direction of Hawton village with the dog still in the car.

Nottinghamshire Police is appealed to the public for the safe return of a dog. The vehicle registration is S100 DUN and the thief is believed to be a white male.

Sergeant Mark Stacey, leading the investigation, said earlier today: “This has been a distressing incident for our victim and we are keen to reunite her with her dog as soon as possible.

“We are appealing to the public to keep their eyes peeled for the car. I would also urge the public to keep an eye out for the dog, which may be in the vehicle or it may have been abandoned on the street. If you see a chocolate Labrador wandering, it may belong to our victim.”
