Rushcliffe Borough Council (RBC) is collaborating with Nottinghamshire County Council to invest part of RBC’s UK Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF) allocation in upgrading seating, planters, and street furniture along West Bridgford’s Central Avenue.

The new seating area near the Croquet Laan and 200 Degrees coffee shop has been installed.


Updated – Tuesday 6 May – new bench installed

Pedestrians, cyclists, and local businesses will experience minimal disruption, as there are no planned road or footpath closures.
The initial phase included:
- Removing some railings
- Installing new cycle stands
- Adding bins to the area
A second phase, scheduled for April / May , will involve:
- Relocating and replacing benches on Central Avenue
- Creating a new seating and welcome area near 200 Degrees Coffee
RBC’s Deputy Leader, Cllr Abby Brennan, said:
“It’s fantastic to see this project underway, delivering visible improvements to West Bridgford town centre.
“Small enhancements like these can make a significant difference, and we hope they will encourage more people to visit and enjoy the area.
“Supporting Rushcliffe’s retail areas and local businesses is a key priority, and this initiative is one way we’re fulfilling that commitment.”
