The store in Tudor Square has been trading for 13 years selling Italian fashion.
Owner Natalie said:
‘“I will be continuing with the shop in Newark and hopefully will go online, and make a success of that – and I hope to be able to open another shop eventually but not in West Bridgford because of the high overheads.
High overheads and low footfall contributed to the decision.
“The future of the shop depends on the cost of living crisis because people are now hanging on to their money because they don’t know what is going to happen next – at this point like ‘what is going to go up next’, I did not see this coming.”
“It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that Estilo West Bridgford will close its doors for the last time on 28th January.
“Thank you to each and every valued customer that has walked through our door…this is not the end of Estilo, so watch this space!!!…
“If you have gift vouchers or credit notes they must be used by the 28th.”
Customers and residents commented with sadness at the news, Mychelle Maddock who runs Mychelle Caroline Salon in Gordon Road said:
‘As a business owner in West Bridgford, it makes me really sad to see another business closing. Times are tough & it’s so important that as a community we all keep using and supporting our amazing local businesses before they are all gone.’
Another wrote:
‘Really sorry to hear this Natalie, and I want to say thank you for keeping me colourful and floaty all these years. You will certainly be missed.’
A customer said:
‘Oh no I’m sorry to hear that – I’ve always found your clothing such a lovely choice to make and great choices and it’s so good to shop locally – so it’s sad to find footfall has dropped! I wish you success in the next phase of Estilo.’
The shop joins a spate of independent business closures in West Bridgford including The Health Store, Locally Produced For You, The Black Pearl, Connaught House and Hopology.
