Last Saturday, a host of heavenly voices could be heard from the Baptist Church in West Bridgford as The West Bridgford Liberty Singers were joined by the Liberty Belles (Ruddington) and the East Leake Liberty Singers formed just last January.
The audience were treated to some Liberty Bangers (classic songs loved by all singers and not necessarily festive) as well as Christmas repertoire in 2,3,4 and 6 part harmony.
Singers had baked for the interval and many gave their time generously to set up and serve during the evening.
There were 12 raffle prizes generously donated by local businesses which all contributed to the grand total.
“Maggie’s Nottingham has touched the hearts of many singers which is why we chose this as our charity this year” said Kari Olsen-Porthouse, The Choir Director for all three choirs.
“It was a delightful evening filled with happiness and being able to raise so much money really was the icing on the cake.
Massive thanks to everyone who helped us including Ali Johnston (photographer) and Rich Williams (sound engineer) and to the Baptist church for making us feel so welcome.”
