Nottinghamshire County Council has issued a notice to close the road.
6 pm Wilford Lane has now reopened to traffic – Wilford Lane has re-opened, with Navy 1, 3, 3A, N4 now back to their normal routes through Wilford. Delays remain due to the closure and diversion throughout the day.

Road closed and slow traffic due to flooding on B679 Wilford Lane both ways from B680 Ruddington Lane to Compton Acres. Detour in operation – for bus services 1,3 and 3A.

Wilford Lane outbound where it meets Compton Acres (Lidi) has been closed at present due to flooding concerns.
This is leading to delays on Wilford Lane in both directions, back to Gresham Close outbound and the Clifton Boulevard A52 slip road inbound.
So please allow extra time
Due to the closure of Wilford Lane, we are experiencing severe delays on services 1 and 3.
School bus 1E is currently 38minutes late and approaching Fabis Drive as of 08:30

Nottingham City Transport said:
‘Wilford Lane is closed near to the tram tracks.
‘Services 1, 3, 3A are diverting via Compton Acres, Landmere Lane and Ruddington Lane in both directions, missing Wilford Lane Tram Stop and Wilford Green.
‘We expect severe delays to these services.’
Trent Barton said at 8:23 am:
‘Due to Wilford Lane being flooded, skylink express will be diverting via Loughborough Road and Ruddington and missing out Wilford Green in both directions.’
A spokesperson said at 9:28 pm on Wednesday 8 January:
‘Wilford Lane in West Bridgford will close with immediate effect at the junction of Compton Acres and The Becket Way.
‘The road will stay closed until after the morning rush hour when a further assessment will then be carried out.’
