Nottinghamshire Police confirmed the charges following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service.

Zaman has been remanded in custody and is due to appear before Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (Friday 23 October).

The charges follow an incident at a bus stop in Angel Row at around 4.50am on Sunday 18 October.

An officer approached two people who were acting suspiciously and suffered a gunshot wound to his foot.

The officer remains in hospital receiving treatment.

“We continue to support him as he undergoes further treatment in hospital and keeping him and his family fully informed of the developments in this investigation.

“He has asked for privacy during this incredibly difficult time.

“We have now charged a 27-year-old woman in connection with this incident.

“We hope this offers the public some reassurance.

“Our investigation team are still following a number of lines of inquiry to ensure those responsible are arrested, charged, and put before the courts.”
