Woman dragged to floor and punched and friends attacked at Wilford Lane tram stop

Police are appealing for information after four people were assaulted by a group of youths at a tram stop.

A woman was dragged to the floor and punched several times while three of her friends were also attacked by members of a large group who had gathered at the Wilford Lane tram stop.

Officers have been carrying out a number of inquiries into the incident, which took place around 11.15pm on 20 June, and are now asking for the public’s help.

Sergeant Jack Lawes, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“We have been in regular contact with the victims to offer support and keep them updated about our investigation.

“We have a number of leads to follow but also know there were several other people at the tram stop that night who will have seen what happened.

“If you were in the area at the time and can assist, please get in touch with officers.”
