Neighbourhood police dismantled a cannabis factory after raiding a village home.
- Neighbourhood police in Kinoulton executed a raid on a property on Main Street, discovering a substantial cannabis factory with almost 300 plants, based on vital intelligence received.
- A 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of cultivating a Class B drug, and he was found hiding in the loft with evidence of electricity bypass at the property.

Officers acted on vital intelligence to execute a warrant on a property in Main Street, Kinoulton, in Rushcliffe at around 1.40pm on Saturday (23 September).
They were confronted by an overwhelming smell of cannabis from the garden at the rear of the property and upstairs windows were full of condensation.
When they forced open the doors, officers from the Rushcliffe South Neighbourhood Policing Team found almost 300 plants growing in upstairs rooms.
A man was found hiding in the loft and there was evidence electricity at the property had been bypassed.
Officers arrested a 24-year-old man on suspicion of cultivating a Class B drug.
Sergeant Brett Price, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “This was a large cannabis grow and I’m pleased we have been able to shut it down and destroy the plants.
“Cannabis production is invariably linked to wider, organised criminality and can also create issues and dangers for people living in our communities.

“Unsuspecting neighbouring families are often put at risk by rival criminal gangs if they target the crop to steal the plants.
“They can also be put at risk of house fires by the dangerous electrical wiring and bypassing that we very often see with these types of grows.
“All of this risk to communities is being created by criminals who only care about making a profit.
“Vulnerable people are also often exploited and forced by organised crime groups to stay at the properties – often in dangerous and unsanitary conditions – to tend to the plants.
“I would urge anyone who believes cannabis is being produced in their neighbourhood to get in touch. Your information could be a vital missing piece of the jigsaw which allows us to take positive action.

All the cannabis seized from the address will be destroyed and the equipment used to power the grow has been removed.
