A 32-year-old man is in custody after a report that a man had attacked a woman and was throwing glass at anyone who tried to intervene.
Officers from Nottinghamshire Police attended The Blue Bell, Mansfield Road Sutton-in-Ashfield shortly after 7.10pm yesterday (Saturday 17 October) and evacuated the pub.
A man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of affray, kidnap, criminal damage, assault and actual bodily harm and remains in custody.
A man was treated by ambulance crews for a laceration to his forearm and a woman was taken to hospital with wrist and head injuries.
Detective Inspector Kaz Smithson said: “This was an alarming situation for these pub goers last night who were caught up in a violent incident.
“We evacuated the pub as a safety measure and to enable us to talk calmly to the man reported to be involved.
“Thankfully it was brought to a conclusion quickly and without more people suffering injuries.
“The investigation remains ongoing and we’ll continue to carry out our enquiries today.”
