Two charged after fight with hammer and chain at Nottingham hostel

No one was injured in the incident.

Two men have been charged following reports of a fight involving weapons.

Officers from Nottinghamshire Police were called just before 8 am yesterday (17 November) to a report that two men were fighting with a hammer and a chain at a hostel in London Road, Nottingham.

No one was injured in the incident.

Nicholas Walton, 43, and Darryel Henry, 37, both of London Road, have been charged with affray.

Sergeant Janine Barnes, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Violence is never acceptable and the use of weapons in particular can cause a situation to escalate into something much more serious.

“That’s why Nottinghamshire Police is committed to taking as many weapons off the streets as possible and to educating people on the potential consequences of violent behaviour.”

Walton and Henry have been remanded in custody and will appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today (18 November).
