A shoplifter who repeatedly flouted a court order when he snatched sweets, chocolate and other items from shelves has sent to prison.
Prolific offender Aaron Kelly was banned from a number of shops across the south of Nottingham and West Bridgford in November 2024.
However, the 36-year-old breached the Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) on a number of occasions when he raided shops in October and November this year.
Neighbourhood police teams worked to arrest Kelly and ensure he had been identified as the offender for a series of shop thefts and other offences.

Kelly, of Eddleston drive, Nottingham, pleaded guilty to 16 counts of shoplifting, 11 breaches of a CBO, threatening behaviour, possession of heroin and two counts of possession of a Class B drug.
He was jailed for a total of 52 weeks at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday (24 November).
Inspector Steve Dalby, neighbourhood policing inspector for City South, said:
“Kelly is a persistent thief who has flagrantly breached a court order placed upon him.
“He has tormented shop staff through his relentless offending and we fully understand how dispiriting it must be for employees when they are targeted in this way.
“It is one of the reasons we work so hard as neighbourhood teams to ensure shoplifters are identified, arrested, charged and placed before the courts, as well as put in hours of groundwork on CBOs when appropriate.
“I hope businesses welcome these efforts and the jail sentence provides them with some respite.
“Support is offered to shoplifters to help them break their cycle of offending.
“However, if they don’t engage and continue to brazenly steal and cause issues for shop staff, we will keep on locking them up.”
