Picture released after fraud incident following van break-in

Police investigating reports of fraud following a van break-in would like to speak to the man pictured in this image.

A bank card, wallet and a satnav were amongst the items taken from a van in Victoria Street, Newark, between 14 and 15 February.

Two attempts were then made to use the card the next day, but payment was declined both times.

Police have been analysing CCTV footage and making other local inquiries since the incident occurred.

They are now in a position to release this photo of a man they believe could have important information about the incident.

Chief Inspector Clive Collings, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“This offence caused considerable distress to the victim and we are eager to bring the person or people responsible to justice.

“We have exhausted a number of lines of enquiry and are now appealing to the wider public for help in identifying the man in this image.

“We believe he may have vital information that will help our investigation and urge him or anyone who knows him to come forward.”
