Another warning for thunderstorms has been issued for today, Friday 28 August.
Although many places will avoid the heaviest rain, heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to develop during the afternoon and evening.
The warning is in force from 12 noon until 9 pm.
The initial focus will be across northern England and much of Wales during the early afternoon, before the unsettled weather extends into central and eastern England later in the day.
Some locations could receive 10mm to 20mm of rain in a short period, with totals of 30mm to 40mm possible where showers repeatedly affect the same area.
Lightning and hail may also accompany some thunderstorms. The heavy showers and thunderstorms are expected to gradually ease during the evening.
