Four suspects were arrested shortly after a motorcycle was stolen in Nottingham city centre.
Four suspects were arrested in Bingham after a stolen motorcycle was pursued from Nottingham city centre.
Police were called to Mansfield Road at 12.19am on Monday (13 April) after a delivery rider’s bike was stolen from outside a takeaway.
A witness took a photo of the offenders and provided officers with information on the direction they were heading.
A short time later, officers received a separate report of an ongoing break-in at an abandoned public house in The Meadows.
Response officers attended the scene and were met by the owner of the stolen motorcycle, who said he’d tracked it to that location and had retrieved it by frightening the thieves away.
Four males – aged 16, 17, 17 and 20 – were arrested after being found hiding in bushes in the Gardeners Close area of Bingham following a pursuit.
They were questioned on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle and have been released on bail pending further investigation work.
The 20-year-old was further arrested on suspicion of a burglary at a property in Azimghur Road, Whatton, on 4 April and a robbery in Porchester Road, Bingham, on 11 April.
The 16-year-old boy victim of the robbery had his bike stolen after being threatened with a knife.
Inspector Tim Cuthbert, local area commander for Rushcliffe, said: “We know each of these incidents caused concern in the community so these arrests are very positive developments.”
