Sneinton stabbing: Four arrested as attempted murder investigation continues

Police have made four arrests after a teenager was stabbed in Sneinton on Friday (26 June) evening.

A 16-year-old boy sustained several stab wounds during the attack on Carlton Road, near King Edward Park.

Multiple people were reportedly involved in the assault, which took place at around 7.20 pm and left the victim with potentially life-altering injuries.

Police have been investigating the attack made a series of arrests in the early hours of this morning (29 June).

Three 16-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, and a 14-year-old girl was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

All four suspects remain in custody.

Detective Sergeant Paul Crofts said: “As always, as we confirm these arrests, our first thoughts remain with the victim of this attack.

“He sustained multiple stab wounds during the assault, which left him with injuries that have the potential to be life-altering.

“We completely appreciate that news of this stabbing will have caused great shock and concern to the community, but hope this update provides the public with some reassurance.

“On that note, we will be continuing to provide a visible police presence in and around this area over the next few days, so we would encourage anyone with any concerns to speak to our officers.

“Multiple suspects have now been identified and arrested in connection with this incident, although I’d emphasise that our enquiries are very much still ongoing.

“As such, we’d ask that anyone who has any information about this attack shares it with us if they haven’t done so already.

“In particular, we would like to hear from any witnesses or anyone who may have captured dash-cam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage of the incident while in the area.”
