Five people were arrested following a report of a fight in the street.
Weapons were reported to have been seen as part of the confrontation, which is believed to have started with an argument among a group of people who were known to each other.
No one was seriously hurt in the incident in Hollingwell Drive, Mansfield, at around 1.30am on Saturday (11 December) and no one required hospital treatment.
Police arrived quickly after being called to the scene and arrested four men, aged 23, 23, 26 and 49, and a woman, aged 52, on suspicion of affray.
Chief Inspector Chris Sullivan, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officers have spoken to witnesses at the scene and in the area and recovered CCTV as part of the investigation.
“This was an incident involving a number of people who were known to each other and while it is always concerning for local residents when people fight in the street, we believe this to be a self-contained incident with no wider threat to the public and we have taken swift action to make a number of arrests.
“We are continuing to investigate the circumstances and I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet come forward, or anyone who has video footage, to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 58 of 11 December 2021.”
