A man is due to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court today charged in connection with an alleged assault on a Nottinghamshire Police officer.
The charge relates to an incident where a police officer was allegedly head-butted after moving to arrest a man in Ravenshead at around 11.50am yesterday.
The officer received bruising to their face in the incident.
Daniel Cross, 27 of Ravenshead, is charged with assaulting an emergency worker in connection with the report.
Chief Inspector Christopher Sullivan, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Officer assaults are a sad reminder of the potential dangers our officers face on a daily basis.
“We will not tolerate violence towards our staff and will investigate all incidents where officers are assaulted thoroughly.”
