Basford: Police presence after woman found with serious injuries at Nottingham address

A man has been arrested after a woman was found with serious injuries at an address.

Police found the victim after being called to a property in Park Lane, Basford, Nottingham at 3.45 am this morning (Tuesday 9 April).

She was taken to Queen’s Medical Centre and is receiving treatment for her injuries.

A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm with intent. He remains in police custody.

A scene is in place at the property while investigation work is carried out.

Detective Sergeant Laura McCullough, of Nottinghamshire Police, said:

“We are currently investigating an assault that left a woman with serious injuries.

“After being called to the address, our officers quickly arrested a man in connection with this incident.

“Our investigation is at an early stage but we do believe it to be an isolated incident with no wider risk posed to the public.

“We understand an incident like this can cause concern to the community, but I want to personally reassure the public that we do have a suspect in custody and we are not looking for anyone else in connection with this incident.”
