Bid to trace haul of jewellery taken in Wollaton burglary

Police are appealing for help to trace these precious pieces of jewellery after they were stolen during a burglary.

Highly distinctive necklaces, chains, pendants, bracelets and other items were taken in the raid on a home in Wollaton on the morning of Sunday 29 October 2023.

Some of the items date back more than 100 years and have huge sentimental value to the owners.

Laptop computers and other high-value items were also taken during the raid.

Police Constable James Atkinson, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Members of the family have been left devastated by this raid. We are determined to reunite them with these pieces of jewellery, which are of great sentimental value.

“Some of the items are unusual and distinctive so if anybody is offered jewellery like this for sale from an unexpected source then please get in touch.

“We know burglary can have a significant and long-lasting impact on victims, both financially and emotionally, and that is why we are working hard to track down whoever committed this crime and bring them to justice.

“We want everyone to feel safe in their own homes, with minimal risk to their valuables, and we are continuing to work hard to stop burglaries from happening in the first place, including sharing crime prevention advice.

“As part of this ongoing preventative work we are urging people to check their home security and make sure they are not leaving themselves vulnerable to burglars.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 101, quoting incident number 364 of 29 October 2023, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
