At 5.57 pm on Thursday 27 June police officers attended St Peter’s Street in Radford after a man sustained a stab injury.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital.
The attack is believed to have taken place on the footpath between Midland Way and New Road, which runs alongside the River Leen, with the suspect leaving the scene on the footpath in the direction of New Road.
The victim was wearing a green khaki jacket and was with another man at the time of the attack who helped him.
A man has been arrested in connection with this incident and a cordon is in place between Midland Way and New Road while officers investigate the scene.
Detective Inspector Ian Holmes says:
“Officers will remain at the scene this evening and please speak with them if you have any information that could help our investigation. If you witnessed what happened or have dash cam footage of the incident, please call 101 quoting incident 632 of 27 June.”
