A community nurse was punched in the face after visiting a hostel to administer drugs to patients causing bruising and discomfort.
The nurse was assaulted in an unprovoked attack as she went to a man’s bedroom, who answered the door, threatened the nurse and attacked her.
Inspector Mark Stanley of Nottinghamshire Police’s City Prisoner Handling Teamsaid: “This was a horrible attack to an NHS worker just doing her job in the local community that she serves.
“The nurse has bruising on her face and is clearly in some pain.
“Armed officers were called around 4.40pm on 30 September 2020 to Forest Road West in Radford following the report of the assault.
“We were quickly on the scene to arrest a 48-year-old man on suspicion of assault, who remains in police custody.
“Nottinghamshire Police takes assaults on NHS staff extremely seriously and protecting the health of front line them is extremely important during the current coronavirus pandemic.”
