Cotgrave: Send a card to mark Victoria’s 100th birthday this month

Nottinghamshire care group and dementia specialists, Church Farm Care, is calling on the local community to help it celebrate a landmark birthday for one of its family members.

Victoria, who lives at the Cotgrave home, turns 100 this May. To mark the occasion, the team is encouraging people to send in enough birthday cards to ensure there are 100 for her to open on the day.

Lucy Atkinson, director at Church Farm Care said:

“This will be a real surprise for Victoria who, after living at the home for five years, has formed lots of strong relationships and has lots of people that care about her. We’re looking forward to making her feel special.

“We want to do something extra to celebrate this milestone for Victoria. She really is a wonderful character – when we asked her, ‘what is the key to living a full and happy life?’ she told us, ‘eating well, working hard, travelling the world and having a good doctor to look after you.’

“We’ll be reaching out to the local schools and other community groups that we have connections with at Church Farm Care but would love to extend this invitation to send a card to the wider Nottinghamshire public. We hope everyone can help us reach our goal of 100 cards and make it an incredible day.

“We always celebrate birthdays at Church Farm Care with a tasty cake and try to fulfill any other requests made by family members or their relatives. Dementia friend lead Cassey celebrated her birthday last month by making mocktails all day with our Cotgrave family! Everyone loves getting together for big celebrations.”

Anyone who would like to send her a birthday card has until Friday 10 May and can drop it off or post it to Church Farm Care, Church Ln, Cotgrave, Nottingham, NG12 3HR.
