CrossCountry Trains: Cancellations and delays across network

Due to severe weather fewer trains are able to run.

Impact:Train services running across the whole CrossCountry network may be cancelled or delayed.

Disruption is expected until the end of the day.

Customer Advice:CrossCountry advise to postpone your journey on Friday and to check your full journey before travelling to ensure routes are travelling.

Tickets dated 8 and 9 January can be used at any time between now and Monday 12 January inclusive.

All transport modes in the West Midlands area are currently disrupted.

Network Rail have routes blocked by fallen trees, failed trains, points failures and overhead line damage.

Overnight some routes have been proved to be safe to operate over using light locomotives.
CrossCountry are currently running the following services:+ Birmingham to the North East/Scotland, hourly service.

All services are calling at Tamworth and Burton-on-Trent.
+ Birmingham to Leicester, hourly service.
+ Peterborough to Cambridge/Stansted Airport, hourly service+ Birmingham to Reading/Bournemouth, hourly service+ Bristol Parkway to Plymouth, hourly serviceThese routes currently have no service with no estimate for line reopening:+ Birmingham to Manchester+ Birmingham to Bristol Parkway+ Birmingham to Cardiff+ Leicester to Peterborough+ Derby to Nottingham+ Willington and Wilnecote will not be served currently
