A man was injured by a deer near to the golf course on Sunday 16 October.
It is reported that the member of the public that was injured acted responsibly on his walk around the park.
Cllr Battlemuch told The Wire:
‘Staff at Wollaton Park handled the incident really well but clearly we need an urgent review of issues relating to the security of the public in respect of the deers on the park.
‘That review needs to include both the Golf Club and the Park management.
‘Personally I send my best wishes to the member of the public who was injured and who acted very responsibly on his daily walk in the park.’
He added that the man is a regular walker at the park, and there is ‘absolutely no question’ that he was at fault in any way.
Nottingham City Council confirmed that the park had been temporarily closed because of the incident and that a visitor was taken to hospital to be checked out.
There were no serious injuries.
The deer was put down by a vet.
