Drug ‘wholesaler’ jailed after £66,000 of cannabis and cash recovered in police raid

A ‘wholesale’ drug dealer has been locked up after more than £47,000 of cannabis and over £9,000 of cash was found during a police raid.

Police also found a large amount of branded designer clothing and small quantities of cocaine and MDMA when they searched Paul Singh’s home in Hucknall Road, Nottingham.

In total, just over 12 kilograms of cannabis was seized during the Misuse of Drugs Act warrant which was carried out on 23 December 2020.

Singh, aged 42, was arrested and subsequently pleaded guilty to possession with intent to supply cannabis, the possession of criminal property, and two counts of possessing a Class A drug.

He was jailed when he appeared at Nottingham Crown Court on Wednesday (28 February 2024).

The court heard Singh had a substantial gambling habit, leading to him being in debt, before he committed the offences and that was why he got involved in the illegal supply of drugs.

Sentencing Singh to two-and-a-half years in prison, Judge Steven Coupland, said: “You were a wholesale dealer of a high volume of drugs and it’s plain that you were involved in the supply of cannabis at a very significant level.”
