The bus fire was reported on the A52 westbound at Bardills.
Police and fire service have now left the scene. The fire is now out and the incident has been handed over to the bus company. Fire crews used a hose reel jet and made the vehicle safe.
Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service said:
‘The incident was attended by Stapleford Fire Station and Long Eaton Fire Station
‘One lane remains closed while recovery takes place.
‘A52 Westbound at Bramcote Island. 07:30 10 April.
‘We closed one lane of the A52 at Bramcote (outside the Garden centre just before the island) while we deal with a bus fire.
‘All passengers have been safely evacuated from the bus (and continued on their journey).
‘Traffic on the approach is building up and appears heavy.’
